The increasing amount of toxic food and contaminated air, water, and environment make the body detox more important than ever.
These factors are responsible for our weak immune system, making us highly susceptible to chronic diseases such as some forms of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, overweight, skin problems, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.
Detoxification is a process in which people make changes in their lifestyle to clear their bodies from harmful toxins that can damage their health. These changes usually include abstaining from harmful habits, foods and beverages, and optimizing body processes. Some changes may be temporary, such as maintaining a cleansing diet and others may be permanent, such as sports and exercise, more fluids. Many people do not realize that many of the physical illnesses and discomfort they experience daily are the result of an organism loaded with dangerous toxins. It desperately needs detoxification.

What are toxins?
Toxins are any substance that may be poisonous or have negative effects on our health. “Toxin” refers to all heavy metals, chemicals, pollutants, artificial food ingredients, pesticides and poisons that cause damages to our bodies. Although it may sound a bit extreme, most people believe that we are in constant contact with toxins today. They can be in water, food, air. For this reason, it is very difficult to limit their effects on the body.
Diets that claim to achieve complete cleansing of the body within a few days have been existing for decades. Although not scientifically proven to remove all the toxins from the human body, many people say they feel more energetic and focused, recharged with energy, rejuvenated, willing and motivated to live after detoxification.
Keep in mind: Our bodies detoxify naturally through a number of mechanisms. In fact, the human body defends itself very well against most environmental damage. This means that most people do not need a “7-day detox lemonade-only diet” or other extreme methods to cleanse their bodies and feel well. Detoxifying diets and regimens must be used with care. It has been scientifically proven that starvation and extremely low-calorie intake cause metabolic retardation and weight gain after returning to normal eating habits. On the other hand, nowadays there are a huge amount of toxins that the previous generations did not have to deal with. So, while we do not support the most extreme practices of detoxification and body cleansing, the truth is that sometimes our bodies can use some help to feel healthy and look good.
Body Detox: Getting Started
To be healthy and properly functioning, the colon must be cleaned properly. When we eat highly processed, refined or known as “junk” foods, we burden our intestines. These fake foods are full of toxins.
Toxins are often added in the form of high fructose syrups, hydrogenated oils, hazardous food paints, spices of unknown ingredients, MSG (monosodium glutamate), preservatives and other ingredients. Our bodies do not need them at all, they can damage vital organs and systems. Moreover, they tend to develop nutritional dependence, which is one of the main causes of overweight and obesity.
In addition to fitness goals (weight loss, muscle gain, and beautiful body maintenance), replacing fake food with real will protect your body from toxic overload. You will feel more vibrant and healthy. We strongly recommend that you replace highly processed foods with healthier and unprocessed variants. These are foods from nature: fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, pure water and natural tea, organic foods. Prefer products that are grown locally and have no or minimal treatment before they reach your mouth. A great first step towards a healthier lifestyle.
Many times, however, if you have consumed highly processed foods for a long period of time, this step will be inadequate. In this case, look forward to our next article. It will focus on effective and safe methods of body detox.
